What is RUNEM?
RUNEM is club membership software for UK sports clubs. It handles online joining, renewals, payments, member self-service and GDPR-safe records, so your team spends less time on admin and more on the club.
Who is RUNEM for?
UK clubs of any size, in any sport, from small community clubs to large affiliated ones. For running and athletics clubs, it also understands first claim, second claim and England Athletics registration, so it fits the way those clubs actually operate.
How do payments work, and do you take a cut?
RUNEM takes a simple 1% of each membership payment, taken automatically when a member pays. There is no monthly fee and no contract. Stripe’s standard card fee (1.5% + 20p on UK cards) is separate and goes to Stripe, exactly as on any online payment. Everything else lands in your club’s own bank through your club’s Stripe.
Do we need a Stripe account, and is it hard to set up?
You don’t need one already. There are two ways to connect: link your club’s existing Stripe account, or let our wizard help you set up a Stripe Express account if you haven’t got one. Either way the account belongs to your club and the money lands in your club’s own bank. You’ll need a bank account in the club’s name (most clubs already have one) and one club official to verify their identity, and a club can set this up as an unincorporated association, CASC or charity. It takes about twenty minutes, and we guide you through every step.
What does RUNEM cost?
Just 1% of each membership payment, with every feature included: no monthly fee, no contract and no per-member charge. You only ever pay when a member pays you. See the

How hard is it to switch from a spreadsheet or another platform?
Straightforward. We set your club up and help move your existing members across, so you’re not re-entering everyone by hand. Most clubs are up and running without any technical work on their side.
Does RUNEM handle England Athletics affiliation?
For running and athletics clubs, RUNEM records first and second claim status and England Athletics registration numbers against each member, and keeps the data clean and exportable so your EA returns are far easier to prepare. Clubs in other sports simply will not see these fields.
Do members get their own logins?
Yes. Every member can sign in to renew, pay and keep their own details current, address, phone, medical notes and emergency or parent/guardian contacts, which means far less chasing for your team.
Is our member data safe, and can we get it out?
Member records are held securely in one place with clear access levels, rather than scattered across spreadsheets and inboxes. Your data is yours, you can export it whenever you like.
Can you build us a club website too?
Yes, optionally. We build fully hosted club websites with RUNEM memberships built in, one supplier, one bill. It’s entirely optional; RUNEM works perfectly on its own.
