RUNEM charges 1% of each payment. Card processing fees are billed separately by Stripe to your club's own account, the same as on any online payment. From RUNEM there is no monthly fee, no contract, no per-member charge and no setup cost, you only pay the 1% when a member pays you.
Here is exactly where the money goes when a member pays their subs by card.
The two deductions are simple: Stripe charges its standard card fee (1.5% + 20p on UK cards) for processing the payment, that goes to Stripe, not to us, exactly as on any online payment. RUNEM takes 1%. Everything else is your club money, and it settles straight into your own bank.
Key in your numbers. Stripe’s card fee and RUNEM’s 1% both come straight off the amount a member pays, neither stacks on the other.
The figures above are shown for the billing period you pick: per month for monthly memberships, per year for annual. Stripe’s card fee (1.5% + 20p) applies to every payment, so a monthly membership is charged it on all twelve payments across the year while an annual one is charged once. That is why monthly works out a little dearer over a year, shown on the “over a year” line. This is a Stripe fee, set and taken by Stripe, not RUNEM.
These are estimates to show how the split works. Your actual total depends on card type, EU and non-UK cards cost more than the UK rate, and Stripe does not refund its fee on refunds or chargebacks. Stripe bills its fees from Ireland under reverse-charge VAT rules: VAT-registered clubs can reclaim it and most clubs that are not VAT registered see no VAT added, but check your own position with your accountant. RUNEM’s platform fee currently carries no VAT.
Because it is a percentage, a small junior membership costs the club pennies, and there is no flat fee swallowing a low sub. The bigger the membership, the more RUNEM does for it, and the more it is worth.
There is nothing held back behind an upgrade. The whole platform is included for that one 1% platform fee, whether your club has 30 members or 600.
Our pricing lands right around what the well-known free membership apps take once you add in their card fees. The difference is not the price, it is that RUNEM is built for UK clubs, and your club keeps its own Stripe, its own data and its own website.
